Both the liver and the kidneys are fundamental organs to maintain our health. The liver, on the one hand, is in charge of detoxifying the body since it fulfills a fundamental function when it comes to filtering all the liquids and food that we ingest throughout the day.

On the other hand, the kidneys are responsible for processing the blood as well as eliminating both waste and excess water. In this way, the basis of detox diets is focused on trying to keep these organs as clean as possible so that they can fulfill their functions in ideal conditions. Herbal teas can be great allies to carry out such work.

Optimal herbal teas to complement the detox diet

  1. Infusion of artichoke leaves: To prepare it, 10 fresh leaves of this vegetable are needed for each liter of water. In special cases, up to 20 of these sheets can be used for each liter of water. To mask the bitter taste, you can use mint leaves.
  2. Coriander, fennel and cumin cleansing tisane: Once prepared -using a small spoonful of each herb-, you have to let it rest for ten minutes and drink about three cups a day.
  3. Burdock tea: We must put a small spoonful of burdock root powder for every cup of water, boil for about three minutes and let it rest for another five minutes.
  4. Plantain, thyme and chamomile tea: We must use a small spoonful of each herb, boil and let stand for about ten minutes.
  5. Cumin, fennel and chamomile tea: Especially effective when taken after lunch and dinner. We have to use a tablespoon of each herb for every half liter of water.
  6. Infusion of ginger, cloves, cinnamon, black pepper and cardamom: In order to adequately contribute its properties, we must ingest it three times a day between the intervals of the main meals.
